A Week of Worksop Skills Academy - Day 5

So, it's Friday already, and we've had a whole week of diverse learners wanting and achieving different things in their lives and their careers, and it's a big thanks to the support that is given at Worksop Skills Academy that has helped them to succeed on their journeys thus far.

As one of our smaller and newer academies, WSA has gradually become a recognised and established adult education facility in the Worksop area. Offering Introduction to Construction 'Green CSCS Card' courses and Skills Bootcamps in Plastering and/or Brickwork programmes, which help kickstart our learners' careers within the Construction industry. There are also the Digital Business Administration courses that WSA delivers, preparing the learner for the office environment and helping them get to grips with digital technology, whilst providing a broad business perspective, exposure to a variety of disciplines, and multiple career pathways.

From Tom Ward, who scouts the local areas for referrals and academy recruits, WSA's enrolment officer, Vincent Whatley, who helps the leaners in the initial stages of enrolment, through to Lead Tutor, Adam Wilson, who is held in high esteem by all his learners owing to his patience, skillset and support. All of these characters work together to make sure each learner has the best learning experience possible.

The dedicated classrooms set the scene for knowledge delivery, while the Worksop allows the learners to dig into the practical side of things, including blockwork on the ITC course, plastering bays, and a brickwork section. There's a brand-new canteen which is stocked with tea, coffee and other goodies, and regularly cleaned restrooms.

WSA's location is simple to reach via the bus (all expenses paid), there's free food for all that attend the courses, and learners are also provided with PPE, which is theirs to keep at the end of the programme.

Our Skills Academies have changed numerous people's personal and professional circumstances, providing the steppingstone to career success, not only in the Construction Industry, but many others too.

If you're unemployed or a low-income earner and you'd like to take advantage of this life changing opportunity, contact Tom Ward at tom.ward@skillspeoplegroup.com or on 07977 153 065 today!
